The HotSpotter is a hand-held instrument designed for the
fire service. It was invented, designed, developed and is owned
by Product Innovation Ltd. It enables firefighters to locate Hot
Spots at a distance (using Infrared radiation) and hence be able
to extinguish fires more efficiently. As a Hot Spot is scanned the
HotSpotter lights up a row of LEDs, and more importantly
raises the pitch of the output sound. It works rather like a Geiger
counter, but for Infra Red radiation. It is sold all over the world
to distributors in the Fire business. It is available in two versions:
Standard and Intrinsically Safe.
